Help your children succeed

Praise their effort and not their talent

Studies have shown that parents might be harming their children's development by praising their talent. Think of the last time your child has demonstrated talent of some sort, perhaps she scored 100% on a math test. Usually, we would say something like "Wow! That is amazing, well done you are very good with numbers!". Although this may seem harmless, your child hears something else entirely. "Wow! I expect you to always get a perfect score in math."

Let them play

Your child benefits immensely from play time. During down time your child develops creativity and imagination, strengthening neural connections needed for communication.
